Amazing visit to Moussa castle

This castle was a dream of Moussa Al Maamari ( who was born in 1931, Lebanon).
Building this Middle age castle was a dream conquered his mind since he was 14 years old, but the great part was that he wanted to build it by his own hands.
“Building a great castle with your own hands!!!”, his teacher and classmates even the pretty girl that he loved his “crush” mocked him because for them it was a ridiculous idea.
That was the main reason for him to escape the school and go to “Saida” on foot to work with his uncle in renovating Saida’s fortress. He kept working in this field until one day he was assigned to restore the museum of Emir Bashir Chehabi II, he supervised the placing of the Emir's personal gadgets from weapons, clothes and the sword offered to him by Napoleon.
He was paid for this job about fifteen thousand Lebanese pounds.
With this money he bought, a suitable land then he started planning to build his long life dream castle, but it wasn’t that easy too, it took him long years to be done. He worked hard for more than half of a century, days and nights, he wasn’t able to rest until his dream is accomplished.

From inside the castle is divided into sections where you can find more than 16,000 pieces of different vintage weapons (one of the biggest in the middle east) also you can find section of wax statues and a room showing the painful memory from Moussa’s childhood and some other sections you should discover yourself.

This castle is located between Deir el Qamar and Beit el Dina in Chouf-Lebanon, and it’s a must visit place.
A castle that required 60 years of dedicated hard-work to be finished is a (Dream of my life) this is the title of the book written by Moussa that summarizes his journey in achieving his dream.
I visited this castle, i was astonished by this great work and believe me you should come and see.
