WHEN NOT TO TALK

Great Minds,
There are times to talk and there are also times when not to talk. When you must keep silent. You will rule, control and be successful if you can tame your tongue. A man who can not control his tongue run into danger and is proned to destruction. Silent is golden and provide opportunity to listen, to get facts, to protect relationships and friendships. It is therefore expedient to know when not to talk and be silent. In this post, the times to be silent are enumerated based on reasons.

1. Don't talk when you don't have all the facts: It is important you don't talk when you lack facts because either you will be talking out of point or giving misleading information. So be silent When you haven't verified the story therefore lacking facts.
2. Don't talk in the heat of anger: Don't talk when you are angry because you may not be able to control your words.
3. Don't talk when it is time to listen: There are times to listen for in listening you learn to understand and see other people's view. So don't talk when you ought to listen.
4. Don't talk if your words will offend a weaker person: If what you want to talk about will not improve lives but rather offend a weaker person then be silent. Let your words heals, encourage and be a source of motivation and strength to a weaker person.
5. Don't talk if you would be ashamed of your words later: Sometimes out of excitement we talk anyhow and later became ashamed of what we said. Rather be silent or mind what you talk if you must talk so you won't regret later.
6. Don't talk if your words would convey the wrong impression: Just don't talk if you are doubtful of the impression your words would carry. Impression matters a lot in improving your personality and your words defines your person. So guard it or rather be silent because silence is great strength.

7. Don't talk if the issue is none of your business: What does not concerns you requires your listening not talking. Whenever it doesn't concern you don't talk maintain you calm and observe and you be be better rather than talking yourself into problems.
8. Don't talk when you are tempted to tell an outright lie: when you know that what you are about to say is not the truth, don't talk rather be silent.
9. Don't talk if your words will damage someone else's reputation: Be careful not to damage someone else's reputation through your words for this put yours in question. Don't talk when your words will damage your friendships and relationships.
10. Don't talk if your words will be a poor reflection of your personality, your friends and family: Your word is your bond, it tells who you are and what you can do. So watch it not to give out yourself in cause of talking.
    In conclusion, tame your tongue and save yourself From trouble. The more you listen and observe to learn and get facts the better person you are and the more peaceful, successful and good leader you would be.
