PRAY AND WORK
Great Minds,
There is this story of a young man who went to church every day to pray for God to bless him. He engaged in 20days fasting and prayer, his prayer line is that God should give him money. According to the story the young man said God can bless him with money through someone. Along the line yes someone came to him and promised him a juicy work through which he could have earned reasonable amount to take care of himself and changed his level. But he refused, that he is not working under any man that God will bless him with money to establish himself. He kept on praying continuously and surprisingly, he was called upon again for another great opportunity he again rejected the offer still waiting for a physical cash from someone.
The story had it that at last he got to a stage where he could not afford money to sustain himself. Gradually, he became very poor, he sought for a chance to work under anybody with the worst conditions yet no way until he went begging and he ended a nobody.
It was a story which veracity is yet to be confirmed. But being as it may, while it is important to pray, it is not enough to just pray, the prayer must be hinged on something, prayer about wealth and source of foods should resolve around work. It sound sweet and responsible even before men to ask God to bless your work and increase your output than to pray an empty prayer.
God blesses the works of our hands not just our hands. God connects people to us based on what we have our effort. What we are ready to put in. Output is proportional to input. Jesus gave a parable of talents, the man that got ten traded it to get more ten and he was bless again for his hardwork but the man that got one and refuse to do something , he refuse to work. The very one he had was taken from him and given to the man with many.
While you put in effort to pray, you must be ready to work so your prayers will be answered. His prayer was answered but he was a lazy man. So lazy that he missed out of his answered prayer.
May God help us to pray with substance that we may receive answers in due course.
