Cryptokitties is an amazing application on the ethereum blockchain. The only problem is that the transaction fee is quite high on the ethereum blockchain right now. It make no sense to buy cheap cat paying high transaction fee.
Last time i checked the transaction fee for the cheapest action (breeding within your own collection) was around $5 for gas costs. If you compare playing an arcade game for $1 per play, it is very overpriced.
Even if you compared getting a new game for $60 with hundred of hours of gameplay to paying $5 dollars to wait for one action, it is overpriced.
Many are saying a steem or eos based game would be a true step forward in gaming on the blockchain.
I think we can't make games on steem right now because we cannot create smart contracts on it.May be it can be done when smart media tokes is developed on steemit blockchain.Developing on Eos is also a better idea. When Eos blockchain gets ready new games should me made on it as it can handle a lot of transactions like steemit does :D
