According to the BBS survey, the number of unemployed people increased after 13 lakh new jobs in the last fiscal year. At the end of fiscal year 2016-17, there are 26 lakh 77 thousand unemployed people across the country. In the previous year the unemployed people were 25 lakh 90 thousand.

According to the International Labor Organization (ILO) rules, people who get less than one-hour less work per week in return for wages are considered as unemployed.
In the labor force survey, the figure of employment has come up. According to the survey of labor force in the financial year 2016-17, there are 635 million people working in the age group of 15 to 64 years. They are fully prepared for work. But as such, he is not ready to study or to be sick or for any other reason; They are not included in this labor force.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, chief guest of the program, said, "Any study is useful in policy making. We will analyze this survey thoroughly. "He further said that the economy is being shifted from agriculture to industries. In this way the structures of the economy are changing. Women's participation in the economy is also increasing. He thinks, the pace of the economy so far, this year will be a good growth.
