There’s now a Forbes list to track cryptocurrency billionaires.
You’ve heard of the Forbes Billionaires list. And now, Forbes has a list tracking the richest people in the cryptocurrency world.

On it, you’ll find the usual suspects: there’s Cameron and Tyler Winkevoss, who are worth anywhere from $900 million to $1.1 billion and are well known for having bought into bitcoin BTC, +31.26% back in 2012. You’ll find 24-year-old Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin, who is worth $400 to $500 million. And one of the biggest people to profit off the crypto craze is Coinbase founder Brian Armstrong, worth an estimated $900 million to $1 billion.MW-GD282_The_Ri_20180207133101_NS.pngThe list is largely based on estimates given the opaqueness and extreme volatility of the cryptocurrency world.

“It’s a near certainty that we’ve missed some people and that some of our estimates are wide of the mark,” Forbes states in a disclaimer above its list.

Forbes’s list includes 19 people, all of whom have an estimated net worth of more than $350 million. And the list comes in stark contrast to the site’s other lists tracking rich people. The average age of the cryptocurrency’s richest people list is just 42, in contrast with the average age of the Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans, which is 67
