Loter Worke (40), a resident of Nafri Village, Abepura District, Jayapura City, Papua found a rusty object embedded in the ground that resembled a World War (PD) II bomb.

The commander of the border security task force (Dansatgas) RI-Papua New Guinea (PNG) from Infantry Battalion PR 328 / DGH, Major Inf Erwin Iswari in Jayapura City said, after an object resembling a bomb was found, local residents immediately reported it to personnel at Nafri Post.

"It is estimated that the bomb was a remnant of world war that has long been planted in the ground. The bomb was found on Thursday (03/07/2019)," Erwin said on Saturday (03/09/2019).

For its size, he said, the bomb had a length of 60 cm with a diameter of 15 cm in a rusty condition inside the ground.
