Quite the contrast...ice & iris

On the north side of our lot we are chiseling out ice along the street to clear storm drains so the water can drain. On the south side, the iris are pushing up a bright, new spring green.

As I say, quite the contrast.

Green for St. Patrick's Day and coming up just a few days before spring officially begins. Hope we can stay ahead of the season!

It was a long, snowy winter. Last Sunday we shoveled 3 inches of snow. So glad to see signs of nicer weather.

We are wondering how long it will take these to melt. We'll see.
