The wait is over! Downton Abbey is back!! 唐頓莊園回來了

It's finally here! Four more months to wait, and no I'm not talking about SteemFest 4 because thats six months away. I'm talking about the Downton Abbey movie. If you haven't heard of Downton Abbey before, or you don't watch it then you will have no idea why this is such a big deal for Downton Abbey fans.
曾經瘋魔全球的英國電視劇唐頓唐頓莊園，在2015年播放完畢後，相信很多唐頓粉絲都會感到很失落。 幾年來，都有傳聞將會有電影版。千呼萬喚，電影版的預告片今天終於出現！ 而唐頓莊園電影將會在今年9月20日上映。 唐頓粉絲，我們不用再望穿秋水啦！

Downton Abbey is a British period drama set between 1912 to 1926 and is about an aristocratic family - The Crawley and how they lived through the changing times. The Crawley familiy wealth has to be passed onto a male heir but Lord Crawley only has three daughters. Much of the first few seasons is about making sure one of this daughter is married off to a, or rather any, distant cousin to keep the wealth in the family. This is where I learnt about the names of distant family relationship, such as who is your second cousin once removed. If you interested, that would be the great grandchild of your grand parent's sibling. Confusing? If you really want to understand the relationship, this is a great place to check it out..

Downton was a very popular TV series when it was on air during 2010 to 2015 and is ITV's (UK) most watched series. Its final episode pulled in an average of 8.8m viewers. Across the pond, it was also well received as many of our American cousins are quite fond of British historical things. In fact it was PBS's all time top viewed drama over its 45 years, pulling in over 10 million viewers every week. And it's not just the English speaking world that loves Downton. In China, Downton was watched by 160m viewers, and it even led to a big increase in the demand for butlers by the nouveau riche. People pay up to USD7.5k for a six week course in China to train to become a butler.

I've been a massive fan of Downton Abbey since it premeried in 2010 and have never missed a single episode. The highlight of my Christmas day during 2011 to 2015 was always to watch the Downton Abbey Christmas episode. The season is normally aired between September to November each year, so for Downton fans, the Christmas day episode was always something to look forward to, to complete their Christmas. Apart form 2012, when they suddenly killed off the lead actor and spoiling Christmas for everyone!

After nearly a four year gap, the wait is finally over and today the trailer for the Downton Abbey movie was released. Now I just need to wait four more months.....
