Steemit vs Busy.org

in #busy7 years ago (edited)

You already know about Steemit but do you know about Busy.org?

For people new to this whole blockchain social network phenomenon, theres a lot of information on the web and sometimes it's easy to feel overloaded trying to keep up.

Steemit is the first blockchain social network to use cryptocurrency as an incentive to create and curate content.

Busy.org is a newer organization and website that runs on the same blockchain as Steemit while providing a unique user experience that many prefer.

Think of Steemit and Busy.org as two distinct companies collaborating using the same resources and accessing the same database and customer base.

Really they are like twins with different outfits and hairstyles....

So what is the difference exactly?

Well Busy.org describes themselves as:

A next-gen social network platform based on the Steem Blockchain.

Essentially it is just a different way to experience Steemit and interact with the Steemit community. They go on to describe what makes them different in more detail...

Using the power of the Steem blockchain, Busy is an Open-Source social network and communication platform that extends itself to a variety of rich features and functionality including free digital payments and a marketplace for goods and services. On top of that, Busy is also a Non-profit organization offering open-source projects on Steem, which aims to bridge the gap between the old economy and a new economy giving value back to people. Our goal is to develop the best strategy to bootstrap this thriving eco-system and to enable billions of people to take part in this revolution.

There is an excellent article describing all the differences between the original Steemit platform and what Busy.org has created and it can be viewed here: https://busy.org/busy/@busy.org/busy-your-next-gen-social-network-platform-based-on-steem-blockchain

Final Thoughts

It doesn't matter if you use Busy.org or Steemit to interact with the Steem Blockchain and it's community so really it becomes a matter of choice... It's clear that Busy.org has big plans to bring more functionality to the original Steemit platform and that itself will be very appreciated. After all, do we really want a company like Facebook controlling the entire social networking market, selling our data to the highest bidder and offering nothing in return except access to the platform? I for one say, no we don't.

localisation, we need multi language interfaces :)

Busy's really awesome, but I d love to have a German or Spanish interface, for example. I'd even love to help translating, since I got experience in that.
My German and Spanish friends would love to interact and have great difficulties doing so when they do not speak English. 😎

Congratulations! This post has been upvoted from the communal account, @minnowsupport, by locke from the Minnow Support Project. It's a witness project run by aggroed, ausbitbank, teamsteem, theprophet0, and someguy123. The goal is to help Steemit grow by supporting Minnows and creating a social network. Please find us in the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty Network (PALnet) Discord Channel. It's a completely public and open space to all members of the Steemit community who voluntarily choose to be there.

If you like what we're doing please upvote this comment so we can continue to build the community account that's supporting all members.

So, I'm still new to Steem, so forgive me if this is a silly question. Do your posts, upvotes, and comments sync between the two platforms?

Nevermind - I answered it for myself with this comment haha! Just in case someone as clueless as me comes along, the above is posted in Steemit and this in Busy. So you really do just pick the UI that you like the best.
