Thai Photo Contest: Nature Photography, วิวริมแม่นํ้าที่วัดศรีชมพูองค์ตื้อ

This is my entry for #thaiphotocontest58 hosted by @thaiteam, the topic is nature photography. To me, nature could be anything which is not man made such as mountains, trees, sky, ocean, stars or sunset. These photos were taken at a well known temple in Nongkhai. This temple is right by a small river with very peaceful surroundings. I wish I had a small boat to travel along this river. Local people believe that there are Nagas living in this river.

The vibes in this temple are quite strong but very calm and peaceful. After paying respect to the Buddha in the Ubosod (Ordination Hall), I would walk straight to the other side of the temple to watch the river. I could stand for hours there watching the reflection on the river and the slow running water in small ripples. Both sides of the river are always very green and covered by tall trees, bamboos and wild bushes. Most people would not come to be by the river which makes this place very quiet. There is some strange magic in this river. People believe that Nagas travel to various part of this land via rivers and underground tunnels or caves. On special religious days they would transformed into humans so that they could visit the temple to pay respect to the Buddha statue and make merits. Even the old Buddha statue in this temple had a story involving two Nagas, in human form dressing in white, helped out with the casting of the huge bronze statue in the temple ground while other people were having lunch. These two Nagas disappeared into the river leaving some marks on the sandy mud on the river bank! So, I would have to go there again with my picnic basket and some books; perhaps I might be lucky and see some Nagas there!

เราชอบบรรยากาศของวัดเก่าๆ ที่อีสานมากเพราะมีมนต์ขลังอย่างประหลาด บางวัดเราไปเท่าไรก็ไม่เบื่อ กลับอยากไปบ่อยๆถ้ามีโอกาส อย่างวัดศรีชมพูองค์ตื้อที่หนองคาย เป็นวัดที่เราคิดว่าต้องมีอะไรลึกลับแอบซ่อนอยู่. และมีบรรยากาศเงียบสงบตรงบริเวณริมแม่น้ำ แต่มีวัดนี้มีประวัติและเรื่อยเล่าเกี่ยวกับพญานาคมานานแล้ว เวลามีงานวัดจะมีคนมากนาแน่นมาก เราก็เลือกไปเวลาที่คนไม่ค่อยไปกัน. แต่ก็มีคนมาไหว้องค์ตื้อและขอให้ท่านช่วยตลอด. เราชอบไปมองดูสายน้ำที่ไหลเอื่อยๆในแม่นํ้า และวิวสองข้างทางที่มีต้นไม้เขียวขจี

เราอยากมีเรือสักลำ จะได้นั่งไปเที่ยวตามแม่นํ้านี้ได้ เวลายืนที่ริมนํ้าจะมีลมพัดมาเย็นสบาย. เงาสะท้อนในนํ้าทำให้เราคิดว่า ต้องมีเมืองบาดาลที่เหล่าพญานาคอาศัยหลบความวุ่นวายของเมืองมนุษย์ วัดองค์ตื้อมีความสัมพันธ์กับพญานาคมานาน แม้องค์ตื้อก็หล่อสำเร็จโดยพญานาคแอบมาช่วยหล่อตอนช่วงฉันเพล พลังงานที่บริเวณนี้ค่อนข้างแรง แต่ทำให้เรามีพลังมากขึ้น เราอยากไปนั่งเล่นปูเสื่อ เอาอาหารไปกินที่นั่น แล้วนอนอ่านหนังสือสักพัก คนคงหาว่าเราแปลกประหลาดแน่นอน แต่เราอาจจะมีโอกาสเห็นพญานาคสักครั้งที่นั่นก็อาจเป็นได้
