I always feel good looking at photos of old Buddha statues

Today is a grey and wet day with dampened mood tinged with the sense of uncertainty about the future. On the surface, things seem quite normal and flow routinely. But inside my heart, I have to struggle to be centered and get on with life in the present. So, I start looking at the photos of my cats to cheer myself up. But when the photos of Buddha statues come up, my mood begins to change completely. I have more energy and my sense of insecurity is transformed into the attention for living in the moment.

วันนี้ไม่มีแสงแดดเลย ท้องฟ้าสีทึมเทาทำท่า ว่าจะมีฝนตกทั้งวัน บรรยากาศก็แปลกๆ รู้สึกสมองเชื่องซึมและจิตใจก็เริ่มฟุ้ง และมีความวิตกจริตเกี่ยวกับอนาคตที่ยังมาไม่ถึง. เราจึงเปิดแฟ้มภาพเพื่องดูรูปแมวที่บ้าน บางรูปก็ทำให้ขำขันมาก แต่พอเปิดไปเจอรูปของพระพุทธเจ้า ก็ทำให้รู้สึกสบายใจ และสงบอย่างประหลาด เราคิดว่าอาจจะเป็นเพราะพลานุภาพ ของการสวดมนต์ที่มีนับครั้งไม่ถ้วนในโบสถ์ ต่อหน้าพระพุทธรูป ทำให้มีพลังกายและพลังใจมากขึ้น แรงสั่นสะเทือนที่ดีๆเหล่านี้ ส่งผลให้สมองปลอดโปร่ง และจิตใจแจ่มใสมากขึ้น เราเริ่มมีสติมากขึ้น และอยู่ในปัจจุบันมากขึ้น พระพุทธชินสีห์ที่วัดบวรนิเวศวิหารงามมาก ส่วนหลวงพ่อดำก็โดนติดทองคำเปลวทั้งองค์ จนความดำหายไปหมด แต่ท่านก็ยังมีความขลังเหมือนเดิม. หลวงพ่อดำเป็นพระที่ลอยนํ้ามา แล้วคนต้องลงไปนำท่านขึ้นมาจากแม่นํ้า
