Shark Island 🦈 ~ Haifischinsel 🦈 ~ Wyspa rekinów 🦈

We left the dolphins in peace and headed to Fahal Island also known as Shark Island, that lies 4km from the mainland. The boat anchored! Now the lunch time with a view for impressive rocky cliffs. Fahal Island is also a breeding ground for the endangered Sooty Falcon but I was not lucky enough to see one.

We then went snorkelling where I had some trouble as I had forgotten my contact lenses and could not see much – but my friends assured me the sea was full of many beautiful fish swimming around the coral and also some sharks - this was only after we were back on the boat!

I am quite sure there no sharks as I think this was a joke, but I guess it is called Shark Island for a good reason- perhaps I have been swimming with sharks, perhaps not, and I will never really know! 🦈

Wir verließen die Delphine in Ruhe und machten uns auf den Weg nach Fahal Island, auch bekannt als Shark Island, das 4 km vom Festland entfernt liegt. Das Boot ankerte! Jetzt die Mittagspause mit Blick auf beeindruckende Felsklippen. Fahal Island ist auch ein Brutplatz für den gefährdeten Rußfalken, aber ich hatte nicht das Glück, einen zu sehen.

Dann war ein Schnorchelabschnitt, an dem ich Probleme hatte, da ich meine Kontaktlinsen vergessen hatte und nicht viel sehen konnte - aber meine Freunde versicherten mir, dass das Meer voller schöner Fische war, die um die Korallen herum schwammen und auch einige Haie - und das sagten sie erst, als wir wieder auf dem Boot waren!

Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, daß es keine Haie gibt, da ich denke, dass dies ein Witz war. Aber ich schätze, dass es aus gutem Grund Shark Island genannt wird - vielleicht habe ich mit Haien geschwommen, vielleicht nicht, und ich werde es nie wirklich wissen! 🦈

Pozostawiliśmy delfiny w spokoju i udaliśmy się na wyspę Fahal, znaną również jako Wyspa Rekinów, która leży 4 km od lądu stałego. Łódź zakotwiczona! Teraz pora obiadowa z widokiem na imponujące skaliste klify. Wyspa Fahal jest również lęgowiskiem zagrożonego wyginięciem sokoła Sooty, ale nie miałam tyle szczęścia, aby go zobaczyć.

Potem poszliśmy na snorkeling, gdzie miałam kłopoty, ponieważ zapomniałam soczewek kontaktowych i nie mogłam wiele zobaczyć - ale moi przyjaciele zapewnili mnie, że morze jest pełne wielu pięknych ryb pływających wokół koralowców, a także rekinów - to było dopiero po powrocie na łódź!

Jestem pewna, że nie ma rekinów, bo mam nadzieje, że to był dobry żart, ale myślę, że nie bez powodu nazywana jest Wyspą Rekinów - być może pływałam z rekinami, być może nie i nigdy tak naprawdę nie będę wiedzieć! 🦈
