Exotic star

A star of Preones is a hypothetical compact star formed by Preones, a theoretical subatomic particles that would compose the quarks and leptons. It is predicted that the stars of Preones would possess enormous densities, of the order of 1020 g/cm3, an intermediate density between the stars of quarks and the black holes. Densities are so gigantic that a star of preones that had the mass of the earth would be the size of a tennis ball.

These kinds of objects could be detected in principle by gravitational or gamma-ray lenses. The existence of the stars of Preones could explain some observational inconsistencies that are currently solved by the hypothesis of dark matter. The stars of Preones would originate because of supernova explosions or in the Big Bang, although it would be quite difficult to explain the formation of these objects so heavy and compact.

However, the current observations of particle accelerators speak against the existence of Preones, or at least do not give priority to their investigation, because, the only particle detector currently capable of exploring very high energies (the great Hadron Collider) is not specifically designed for this and its research program is directed towards other areas such as the Higgs boson, the quark-gluons plasma and physics-related tests beyond the standard model.

In general relativity, if the star collapses to a smaller size than its Schwarzschild radius, a horizon of events will exist in that radius and the star would become a black hole. Thus, the size of a star of Preones can vary about 1 meter with an absolute mass of 100 Earths to the size of a pea with a mass roughly equal to that of the moon.
