The Head of Komodo National Park Authority (TNK) Sudiyono said that the tour of komodo dragons (varanus komodoensis) in West Manggarai regency, Flores Island became the largest source of foreign exchange in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK). "The contribution of non-tax revenue in the scope of the Ministry of LKH for the year 2017, the highest is obtained from Komodo National Park which ranks first, and the second rank is BKSDA West Java," said Sudiyono when contacted from Kupang on Thursday. He said the country's latest revenues recorded as of January 2018 reached about Rp29.1 billion.

According to him, the achievement is a positive result considering the only potential source that is relied upon only from tourism Komodo National Park as one of 10 national flagship destinations. "We are grateful that even though the destination is in the district but it surpasses the provincial level like BKSDA West Java which is in the second rank it has many sources, there are conservation institutions, zoos, peak tourism, and tourist parks," he said. Sudiyono said the TNK's revenue earned rely on the purchase of tourist tickets that enter the islands within the KNP, treking tickets, surfing and diving.

KNP noted the flow of tourist arrivals during 2017 increased sharply to reach more than 120 thousand people with 65 percent of whom are foreign tourists. Sudiyono no doubt that the Komodo dragons become one of the wonders of the world (new seven wonders) it has worldwide and become one of the favorite tourist destinations of foreign and domestic tourists.
