Actually, our sustainability depends on author rewards keeping pace with enrollment growth in the program. To that end, there are incentives in place to reward those that upvote our posts/comments. We track the results closely and if we find there is too much abuse we will stop rewarding comment votes and only reward votes on posts.
For now, a few people like to upvote all our comments for a couple cents each to ensure that they don't dust (and then collect on the steady stream of rewards).
