I am sorry for your loss. My dog (whom I had for almost 10 years) also passed away a couple of years ago. My family was devastated, despite not talking, she was truly one of us, another member of the family. My father cried for 3 days ... also, he suddenly realised there was no more routine in his retired person's life now that he didn't have reason to go out 3 times a day. Most people say that if you've lost your pet you can easily get another one, but that's simply not true. You can't replace the animals you loved just like you cannot replace a belove one who dies.
