The Story of Putrajaya Mosque in Malaysia
Putrajaya is a territory in Malaysia which is the administrative center of the neighboring country. This region becomes a modern city equipped with various luxurious facilities. Malaysia as a predominantly Muslim country, Islamic center, and place of worship are paramount. In 1997 this place was then established a large mosque adjacent to the office of the government of Prime Minister of Malaysia, called Prime Putra.
The mosque was named Putra Masjid taken from the Prime Minister (PM) of Malaysia First, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. This mosque is one part of the greatness and landmark of the City of Putrajaya. It is located opposite Putrajaya lake. From this mosque, can be seen clearly the beauty of the lake area and the beautiful area of Putrajaya.
Because of its location on the lips of Putrajaya Lake, at a glance, this Putra Mosque looks like a floating mosque. The location is indeed jutting into the lake, making Putra Masjid looks like floating on the surface of this artificial lake. This gate is equipped with geometric shaped ornaments that are characteristic of Islamic architecture as well as beautiful calligraphy art. The gate is shaped similar to the gate of King Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco.
The gate is made of red granite material combined with chipped wood, to enhance the decorative features of doors, windows and panels. The gate also features an information room and stairs to the ablution site on the ground floor.
The pink-dominated building of the mosque combines the features of modern and traditional architecture, by adopting the Persian art of the Safavid era and some elements of other Muslim cultures.
Very good architecture, interesting history
