Goblin Duel Deck (KRENKO!!!!!!!!) Decklist and Fun Combos
This ugly guy is the centerpiece of this deck. But he is a Mob Boss.
Here is a goblin deck that can runaway quick
This was one of two decks included in a recent duel deck pack consisting of goblins and merfolk. I prefer the goblin deck, so that is why I am writing about this deck first 😬
I have been going through my other cards and trying to add to this deck. Because I can not remember if I have made any additions to it besides the stock build, I made a decklist.
This deck is not a commander deck. It has a total of 60 cards. I will not call it a standard deck, although it was purchased within the standard timeframe. But I may have added stuff that isn’t standard.
Krenko, Mob Boss
As you could probably tell, this is the most important card in the deck. If you can cast Krenko and keep him out for a few turns, it is a guaranteed win. Let’s see why...
His activated ability doubles the number of goblins you have. Just by tapping Krenko. Imagine putting spells in the deck that untap cards. Very, very dangerous.
One thing to keep in mind is that if you are playing against anyone who knows your deck, Krenko will be enemy #1. Be smart when casting him, there aren’t any options to return from the graveyard in here.
Krenko’s Command and Hordeling Outburst
Simple. Make more goblins! Make as many as you can! This is what is so important about the Krenko combos. 2 mana for 2 goblins, 3 mana for 3 goblins. Exponential numbers of goblins.
You get a goblin! You get a goblin! You get a goblin! You get a goblin! You get a goblin! You get a goblin! (you get the idea)
Goblin Chieftain and Goblin Rabblemaster
These cards affect all goblins you control. When you get a ton of goblins on the field, they all need some direction, right? Goblin Chieftain gives all other goblins a nice +1/+1 and haste. In succession with Goblin Rabblemaster, you get another goblin (always nice) and it gets +1/+0 for each other attacking goblin. Another potential kill shot.
Goblin Diplomats
The main reason I am mentioning this card is because of the artwork. I mean, look at it. I chuckled to myself for quite a few minutes. (Almost represents the current administration in the US right now).
Honorable mentions for combos are Relentless Assault, Gempalm Incinerator, Cleaver Riot.
Relentless Assault gives you another attack phase and untap anything that attacked. It is only 4 mana. Don’t forget to reuse your Krenko ability!
Gempalm Incinerator would be used for its cycling ability. It deals X damage to target creature, where X is the number of goblins you control. Paired with Krenko, devastating.
Cleaver Riot is a no-brainer. Double strike on creatures you control.
This deck is really fun to play. It’s too bad that our group doesn’t play much modern or standard anymore. I love commander but a good modern or standard match every once in a while is fun!
