All In His Name

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

The whole world is full of activities. As humans, we are always busy doing something or talking about something. Today, the Almighty God brings us a clear direction to engage in these activities and still be relevant in the kingdom. We are to do everything in the name of Jesus. This implies loyalty and submission to Christ. When our interaction with ourselves and others portrays the love and mercy of Christ, the action taken or the word spoken was in the name of Christ.

Brethren, whatever others can see or hear and give thanks to God was done in Jesus name. It's critical here, because we have to be guided by the Holy Spirit. The human nature have no capacity to love or be merciful. It's expedient that we surrender all to God in order to harness the power to live in holiness. God is holy and any action or words spoken must portray His holiness in order to be in His name.
Brethren, refuse to be caught in the grips of worldliness. Let the love of Christ guide us. Let us do all things in the name of Jesus at all times. Nothing is worth doing if it's not in Christ's name.

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us the opportunity to live by your love. Please help us to continually please you in our actions and words, in Jesus name. Amen.
