"Until you move nothing moves." and without work there is no faith. As a christian in this new year we have to apply work to our faith to make us prosper, lets see what the word of God says.

17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have works.”
Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead. -James 2:17-26.

God does not want us to be lazy

• Some would say i believe just in faith alone in God to have all my needs met. That is to say, i will pray and pray and pray and then be expecting a big miracle. The creative power of God will create a blessing for me. So i don't need to bother myself about much work. Yes it is true that the just must live by faith.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” -Romans 1:17.

With prayer and fasting alone, i can have all my needs met. It does not mean that they don't work at all. Because of this orientation, they pay so much attention to prayer and faith leave the rest undone.

• On the contrary to that school of thought, equal attention is to be given to work and to faith. Lack of sufficient work will invalidate your faith. Commensurate work in combination with faith brings much result.

Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank. -Proverbs 22:29.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. -Ecclesiastes 9:10.

In summary, let us have faith in God as if that is all required to be successful. Let us also work as if faith is not even needed for breakthrough.
