What is healthy food?

Healthy food is food that comes in its most natural form. No additives or sugar added. Fresh fruit and vegetables are good examples of healthy foods and provides you with all the necessary vitamins on a daily basis.

So what is really good for us and what not?

There are so many theories out there that we have lost track of food that is really good for us. We have become so comfortable that it is much easier to grab a packet to mix with water instead of making something from scratch.  We are so busy in our everyday lives that it is faster and easier to stop at a fast food restaurant just to grab lunch or dinner.

Most people don’t even eat breakfast because of time restraint and everywhere people are just becoming unhealthier by the day. Social media and the internet has confused us with what the right foods are to eat, and everyone has their own idea.

There are thousands if not millions of various diet plans out there and we have become confused with what is right and what is wrong. With our busy lives it has become easier to stick to what we know and we keep on following that trend because it is convenient.

People work longer hours and is no longer active during the day because of sitting behind a desk the whole day. It’s easier to order something from a restaurant if you forgot to pack lunch and when they finally get home they are too lazy to cook.

You are what you eat is an important saying!

Are you tired all the time, working long hours and feel overworked with no energy? Then it might be time to start planning better so that you can change your ways.  The best advice that anyone can give you is to keep your food intake moderate. Eat whenever you are hungry and think before you put something in your mouth. Our body works in mysterious ways and if something is wrong your body has a way of warning you. Don’t eat just because it is to eat.  Prepare your own food and use the freshest products you can find. Use natural spices like Himalayan salt to flavor your food instead of spices that is mixed with sugar.

Moderation is the key to everything. Make sure you drink enough water during the day and cut down on fruit juice which is loaded with sugar. Don’t drink carbonated soft drinks as these drinks are full of additives and sugar. You might think they give you energy but they only do for a little while. Energy drinks are so loaded with sugar and caffeine that you are literally killing yourself with every sip you take.

You cannot change everything in one day. One little step per day is enough. Once you cleared your body from all the toxins, it will be much easier to say no to sugar or anything else that is bad for you. Sugar is the main killer out there and is the main reason for obesity.

If you are addicted to sugar then you should break this habit as soon as possible. Once you get rid of your sugar addiction it is amazing to actually see how your body heals.  Teach your children from a young age that sugar is bad for you and you can save their lives.

In the end, moderation is still the key. There will be times when you indulge in something that you shouldn’t but don’t let that stop you. Just get onto the bicycle again the next day and start again.

Enjoy yourself and don’t overdo anything. Too much of a good thing is also bad.

Healthy eating is really important and everyone should care about what to eat. The problem today is that we have an abundance of food and that gives us more than we need. It´s important to eat consciously.

True, all in moderation. Now, that am in my senior yrs and felt the result of my gluttony to sugary foods...result pre diabetes...I now, tell my children and grandchildren to stop drinking softdrinks and artificial juices in bottles and salty foods.
