TIL: What Busy.org is working on and WHY it will BLOW OUR STEEMING MINDS!

in busy •  2 years ago

At first I believed busy was "just" another steemit front-end, but after getting schooled by some really dedicated @busy.org people and urged to watch this video I have come to realise that... THIS IS HUGE!!

This is what Busy.org is building:

After watching this video, I asked - how long time will it take you guys to deliver this to the market, and the guy answered that it will be delivered this summer (June, July or August? 2017) which made me extremely confident in the future.

Now that you too have watched this video, please tell me what YOU think in the comments below.

Steem is about to get Busy

Brb buying a crap load of steem...

I'm still waiting on the email that they said they would send me.

Can you help me power up some accounts for my friends?
I got the steem, just not the skilz.

·

what's your email address ?
not sure we ve seen your email
i'll try to fix this

·
·

I signed up during the closed period and was told that I would get an email when busy went public.

I'm at 'the free born society at yahoo dot com', no spaces, of course,...

·
·
·

We've sent an email to every subscriber of the mailing list ;)
something may went wrong, sorry for that.
I'll send another batch
in the meantime you can directly test https://busy.org/

·
·
·
·

I'll give it a look, thanks.
If you could give me a forum view, similar to @jesta's, I'd be overjoyed.

Is the chat secure, ala minds.com?
They say their's is secure, but I got my doubts.

When I adjust my profile do you keep a copy of my active key?
And are changes I make to my 'cover' image gonna change my avatar, or are they two different things?
And do changes in busy make changes in Steemit regarding my profile pic.

(edit) When I post my page link to other sites can I get a thumbnail to come up?
Currently it doesn't, at least on minds.com.

Swiss Army App. If Busy can reward the user, all the better.

·

How does busy reward the user?

·
·

steem

·
·
·

On top of Steem earned on Steemit?

·
·
·
·

They are linked.
STEEM = $dollar
Paypal, Venmo, cash.me, all use $dollars.
Steemit.com and Busy.com both pay in $teeem.

Two different platforms that do the same thing and run on the same blockchain. I think I said that right.

But Busy is about to do a lot more.

busy.org = wechat - orwellian nightmare = steem powered internet = holy cow steem price = the world is about to change

If it's coming this summer, this is the most exciting piece of news I've heard since I heard about Bitcoin.

What about PRIVACY???? :O

This is scary; does Busy have anything to say about privacy?

😄😇😄

It is steem-backed not china-backed. Lol.

Can you elaborate I hate watching videos

·

lol - Love the lazy here. Nicely done.

pure hype, wont work in western world, works in china because of dense population and non-diversified culture

·

The app has probably millions of commerce and services subscribed to it, so it's very diversified, the fact that it is in one app doesn't mean there is no choice. I don't get your point about dense population...

People use this for convenience and merchants use it to advertise their product in a new viral way so it will work in any country.

The only way to bootstrap a social media site that could rival giants like facebook is by building this kind of multi apps. Merchants and services will have an incentive to connect to the social media site to benefits from the user base, then the more apps the more users you get and it can snowball from there.
Do you know when twitter and facebook network effect started to kick in? It was when they developed their own API.

·
·

yes, there is money in apps, but the type of app featured in this video would not work in the USA. In a democratic society everything is naturally more fragmented as people have more freedom of choice, and would exercise their freedom by not doing everything in one single app.

·
·
·

Nobody is forced to use the app and it provides a lot of choice. The video is misleading as it gives this impression that you have to use the same services over and over again when in fact there are millions of them.

·

I have to agree, that I don't see that Busy.org is bringing any real new features or promotion to steemit...

What does WeChat have to do with Busy.org, why are Busy mirroring my dTube and Steemit posts and why should I authorize them to access my posting and earning rights? And also who granted dTube permission to make my original videos downloadable to the general public?

It's awesome that your bring this up. I hadn't heard that part.

Holy shit. Talk about the man made of glass.

Interesting video but i don't see what it has to do with busy.org launching.

Their beta was supposed to be released in February. Still waiting and eager to try it.

·

It seems out enough, I'm using it very often...

·
·

Cool, somehow I missed the email letting us in. Thanks for reminding me to look. I'm in.

How is the tracking being resolved by steem where everything is 100% public? Seems safer to have your information within the Chinese government than open with the whole planet.

Woah, this is crazy! I cant believe the whole tracking part. Insanity just insanity. Hyperuseful application though.

That video told me nothing about Busy or why I should use it.

Copying an approach and the required technology may not be that difficult. BUT, getting all these Apps and Services on it is another challenge. This challenge is not that BIG a deal for WeChat: 1) Tencent, the owner of WeChat, is a very big company with enormous amounts of funds to invest before making revenue 2) critical mass in China is on WeChat with 600m/700m users? For either Busy or Steemit Inc, both points are not in reach by far; at this point time, or this summer.

so busy.org is working on concentrating all of our personal data into a central database for profit and facilitating an orwelian world where companies and governments track every movement I make? AWESOME!!!!!!!

actually, it would be super awesome if I could say that I trust my governement.

·

Well, you are a big ball of fun.

·
·

I just joined the title of your post, and the last words of the video into a sentence... it seemed profound to me, in the moment.

I do like how busy.org makes it easier to get into tags that aren't on the trending list...

·
·
·

There is a life about to start when tomorrow comes!

·
·
·
·

lets go with that!

·
·
·
·
·

And beyond.

·
·
·

Oh, I don't know it.

·
·
·
·

ya, the tags bar on the side shows trending topics like on steemit, but also has a little search bar so you can easily pull up any tag

·
·
·
·
·

You bore me. I want real people to talk to.

Interesting... to say the least. Social media on a transparent public blockchain for all to see... There is no privacy once you are on it, so one should act accordingly. At least the users are rewarded to a certain extent for sharing their information with others, unlike the way it currently is on FB and G+, etc.

sounds pretty scary.

I would tell you what I think, but I'm speechless.

There's no privacy in wechat. If you have a government leader who is a killer I don't think it's safe. You will have no freedom.
