Meet Norm

When @longsilver and I lived at the hot spring, Norm and Tammy were among our neighbors. They are a most interesting couple, lifelong Idaho residents who have seen a bit of everything. Norm is not fond of the woods, he was once in a small aircraft that crashed up in the Seven Devils Mountains and the trees made them nearly invisible to rescuers. Several times they tried to signal search planes, but even with fires they could not catch their attention. Obviously he was rescued, but he likes the open desert part of Idaho now, avoids the woods.

Norm is a small engine mechanic too. He has fixed lawn mowers and generators for us a couple times, he charges nothing and gets it done faster than any shop in the area. He is quite a bit older than Tammy and he worries about how she will make a living when he is gone, so he taught her to fix small engines too. For now, she just works at the library. (Which she cannot pronounce, I tease her that I am going to steal the "R" off the sign so she can really work at a "libary.")

The people who own the hot spring have been aided by Norm's knowledge of the plumbing on the place. The original owners just ran pipes. Here, there, everywhere - no maps, no notes, just pipes everywhere. Hot spring water is pretty corrosive, so the pipes burst and it is a bit of a guessing game where the source of each new puddle and pond may be. Norm was there when much of the pipe was put down, so he is often able to put the man with the backhoe in the right area at least.

I believe I have established that Norm has good intentions. He is always willing to help out however he can and he has a very useful skill set. In his youth, he worked for the Washington County road crew. When the decision was made to put asphalt on the long, windy road from Cambridge to the Snake River, Norm and his co-workers were the boots on the ground. With nothing but the BEST of intentions these gentlemen...

paved the road to Hell's Canyon.

does busy take a beneficiary percentage?

I do not know... that is a good question! I liked the features and just jumped in.

OK, from what I am finding they do NOT charge anything. If I see that is wrong (when stuff starts paying out) I will let you know!

very cool, when I realized how much was going to dmania and mspsteem I got a little soured on them.

Been meaning to check into Busy. I am busy myself next couple of days. I will pop back over here and use your link. By then you will know 'everything' 😲

Lol! Yep, everything, for sure!
Thanks!
