Fly fly fly a kite 做风筝,放风筝
Some of the children made kites in the nursery the other day. Olivia selected the coloured paper she wished her kite to be and the teacher cut it to shape. Olivia collaged on her kite using a range of materials then once dried helped her teacher to celotape down some sticks to make it sturdy. When the teacher asked Olivia how we would fly the kite she showed understanding that they would "go in the sky" and that we need "wind" to make it fly.
And today they went for a walk down to the sports field to fly the kites they made last week. Olivia walked well all the way and only let go of hands once the teacher said that they could run on the field. The children were given their individual kites and the teacher showed them what to do as she held one up in the air to show it blowing. Olivia copied her teacher's actions running across the field whilst looking back to see her kite fly. There wasn't too much wind so this seemed not to do the trick. Olivia attempted to join in singing, "let's go fly a kite.." along with her carer and friends.
