Where did last week go?steemCreated with Sketch.

Or the week before for that matter.

One thing most of my projects have in common is that they take time and preparation to do.
It might take me an hour or even less to write the steemit-post, but doing the project, whether it is a knife or sword, or something more humble like a new 3d figurine , the time is at least several hours and sometimes days.
Thus recently I have found it difficult to post anything since I have been too busy to even go into my workshop. Well that may not be entirely true , but the only work I did in there was tidying up and installing a new table.

If you are wondering what it is that is taking so much of my time, you are in luck. because that is exactly what this post tries to answer.
first of: I have a job as a computer graphics specialist; part researcher part programmer. we are currently in the process of applying for the funding that is app. one third of our budget for the next 2 years.
one of these projects is one that I have proposed together with a colleague and if it goes through we get to do fun and interesting stuff for the next 2 years, but if it doesnt, we will get assigned to some of the other (often commercial) projects which contains less research and more programming.

While I do enjoy the puzzlesolving challenge of programming it is in the research i really find my motivation, so it is kind of important that the application gets as good as humanly possible. I have spent both evenings(and nights) and weekends on this lately so that has taken up most of my time.
Furthermore I was on a visit to Austria, where the might be a possibility for collaboration(again via my job) IST Austria is a super interesting university just north of Wienna, and I was fortunate enough to be invited down there last week for a short visit.
They do research in computational manufacture, and apart from being really talented, they are also , all of them , really nice people. There are a lot of bumps that needs to be taken care of before a collaboration can be started but the process is underway and I look very much forward to (hopefully) expand the collaboration.
The images in this post where taken during my visit there. the weather was a sweltering 32-33 degrees centigrade but all the buildings was pleasantly air-conditioned and the humidity was low so even outside it wasnt too bad (as in: I survived)

A small stool-thing made with flat lasercut plates, bent into shape.

the internal deadline for the application I talked about above was today so now I am hoping to get more time to my family and my self(and thus my projects).
It might be a week more though, since I am also going to do coaching on the danish computer game education DADIU thursday and friday.

I am planning to get back into posting some more projects as soon as possible but don't hold your collective breaths. I need to do the stuff before I can post about it :-)

Thats all for this small update. I hope you enjoyed it.
