Christmas festival in calabar
Calabar, the state capital of Cross River which is considered as the tourism capital of Nigeria had started it's 2017 Christmas festival.
The festival which began on the last day of November is one of the most anticipated and talked about events attracting thousands of people within Nigeria and beyond. It is an interesting occasion with 31 days celebration.
The state uses it as a means to showcase history, culture and natural beauty of the state as well as it's African heritage.
The Festival which begins with the Xmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The festival takes place around many interesting venues within the state, visitors can attend fashion shows, cultural exhibition, food demonstrations,funfairs, talent shows, music concerts, carol services, parades and picnics. The annual Boat Regatta is also a colourful display of flamboyantly decorated boats pitting local riverine teams against each other.

The state is also making preparation to host over 2 million people from 25 countries around the world.
It is proudly organised by the Cross River State Carnival Commission and is scheduled to hold from December 1st - 31st 2017.
