RE: Wednesday Walk: Vegas

in #busy6 years ago

This was such a great post and I loved it! I have been to Vegas many times, mostly for work purposes and once a family trip. That was when Vegas was funny enough, kid-friendly. I cannot wrap my head around that, but, it was included in the itinerary that had Grand Canyon in it and the Hoover Dam... Why not make it a trifecta?

I haven't been back in a few years and I loved how clean it was! There were kids, but,not all over like that- plus if you were underage, you were allowed to walk through the casinos, but, not allowed to stop. They were quick to give you the boot.

I don't gamble, so it is more of a look-see and there is plenty to see and do, but they have gotten out of hand with their prices~

Vegas used to be dirty before the big redo and I can see by how you describe it, that it is going back to the dogs. Too bad. It could have still been fun, but, I don't need to waste my money there. Too many great places out there!

As for the sneezing, the desert is notorious for the allergies (even if you don't think you have them!)in the spring! The pictues and descriptions were awesome! You have a great written word!

Thanks, I appreciate it! I have only been there three times. The first time was about 10 years ago and I don't remember it being the same way. I was there again about three years ago and that was when I really started to notice the kids. This time it was just a reaffirmation. I think a lot of it just has to do with cultural norms and what this generation sees as acceptable vs. what I am used to.

I know that Vegas used to be the place to go for cheap great food via the buffets and things like that. It definitely isn't the case anymore. We have some casinos in Michigan that I feel are just as nice. They might not have the architectural flares, but they are cleaner, and much more modern. The drinks aren't free, but you don't have to hunt down a server like the seven cites of gold either.

Besides the show we went to, some of my favorite parts of our trip are the things we did off the strip. I will be writing more about those thing within the next week. Like I said, I took a ton of pictures!

Yep that sounds about right. It started going downhill a little bit and I haven't been back since. When they first redid it was amazing oh, of course I probably did not go there then but it was soon enough after that it was so clean fun place. I probably will never go back but instead will go back to the real Venice. LOL

Well I look forward to the next set of pictures and as always I hope you have an amazing day

I have heard it was much better when the Mob ran things. I don't know how accurate that is, but apparently people were just treated better and the comps were much better.

Oh yes because who doesn't just love a little bit of organized crime? LOL

I'm actually sure that you're probably right, and all the stories that I have read I had always thought were a little bit fictionalized but then found that they were not. Another era, I suppose.

For sure, we stopped in to the Mob Museum down near Fremont street and it was really interesting. But that's another post... :)

OMG!!! LOL I have never gone in!!
