It was a rough night at the track

in #busy6 years ago

Well last night was a complete bust. Every since the car got rolled on night one it has had some phantom miss fire problem. So we did a tune up on it this week and crossed our fingers. I guess we should have crossed our toes to because once he went out on the track it was worse than ever. He pulled off after one lap. So we borrowed a distributor from a guy we know. Went out for the heat race and the car was bad fast. Driver not so much. He kept getting up to high on the track and hitting what they call the cushion. That is the top part of the track that if you do not do it right it sucks you up towards the wall. Not where you want to be. He did it 3 times in the heat race and cost him 2 starting spots in the feature. That is 2 spots we have to make up in the 20 lap feature. Not happy. He does this quite often and I was already kinda pissed so I kinda tore him a new ass about doing it. So we got the car prepped and out it went out for the feature race. The car did not even make it one lap before the borrowed distributor died. Beyond pissed at this point. Just a bad night all around and venting a bit. Until next week.

We had the field covered at Winternationals one year. #1 qualifier headed for Sunday and a pretty good shot at winning a huge race. 1st round against Gene Snowman Snow, we had .6 on him. Driver deep staged and shut down immediately after the start. 0 oil pressure and he tried to get Snowman to red light. The laminate bottom of the oil pan had broken loose and closed the oil pickup.

Alan Johnson came to the trailer immediately after and uttered some of the truest words ever spoken. "Some days God just doesn't want you to win". 30 years ago.

I guess things haven't changed. I know how shitty that feels.

I truely could not have said it better. It is really nice having another motor head on here that understands the way stuff happens. Thank you . I do appreciate you stoping through and droping wisdom and experience on me.

We did go to the track for the first time this year. we got to see all the practice and 2 stigner heat race (basicly stock V6 cars) during the second one it started to rain. It was the best slowest race I saw lol. most of them where just sliding all over the place. then it got cancelled for rain. Hopefully next time the we have a nice day.

yep once you get a little moisture on top of a packed track it turns straight to snot

Yes it was fun to watch but to bad it cut the race day short

Know that feeling. We also had some races where nothing worked and every part of the bike tried to piss us off and ruin the race

yep, that is the crappy part. Putting in a week of work for nothing. Really pisses you off.

Good luck next week. Maybe you will find the distributor problem this week.

We have a new module on the way so I am hoping it takes care of it.
