Comfort of Scripture
Text: “For whatsoever thing were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Rom 15:4
It will be extremely difficult to survive, thrive and blossom in this turbulent world without the word of God having a major role to play in our lives.
The word of God is our greatest companion in the journey of life. The word of God becomes powerful when it leaves the pages of the Bible and begins to control the thought pattern of a man within.
As we go about our work and assignments on daily basis we’ll come across situations and circumstances that may attempt to get us off our feet. We have government policies that may not be designed to favour us. The market forces may threaten our business. Health and finance issues may spring up in our families. This may become so overwhelming that we seek to hide or just run away. The word of God has provided enough comfort to sustain and uphold us until we see the fulfilment of promises in our lives.
If you lack the comfort of scriptures you will be easily discouraged and intimidated by the challenges of life. The comfort of scriptures tells us that all things are working together for our good. With this we can look at any challenge and say “This will work for my good ” The comfort of scriptures tells us that where there is a casting down there will be a lifting up for us. The comfort of scriptures tells us that even when thousands fall by our sides it shall not come near us.
If you are filled with the comfort of scriptures the Devil will find it very difficult to get you discouraged.* This will also place you in a position of been a source of comfort to other people who are hurting. You cannot give what you don’t have. It’s a better way to leave helping others to find courage and comfort as they face life.

Thank you Lord for the comfort of your word. Lord I apply my heart to your word today.
