**TODAY WE WILL TALK ABOUT A LITTLE WHAT NUMISMATICS AND A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THIS WORLD FACISNANT.**

THE NUMISMATICS:

Numismatics is an auxiliary science of archeology that deals with the knowledge of coins or medals issued by a nation. In the same way, the numismatic word is the hobby to collect coins or medals.

The term numismatics is of Latin origin, it is derived from the word "numisma" that expresses "currency" and, this one of the Greek "nomisma", derived from "nomos" that means "custom or convention".

Numismatics is known since the Roman Empire but it was in the twentieth century that it began to be treated as a science, which encompasses its studies in the theoretical and historical aspects. The first point refers to the study of nomenclature, bases of classification, among others; In turn, the historical part is responsible for studying the development of the currency in the different towns and their different monetary manifestations.

However, numismatics covers 2 epochs. At first, there were no non-metallic coins, so there was an exchange of goods and products and, consequently, the people used their higher value products as currency. Then, the metal coins were originated, at first the metal utensils and ingots were used as currency, then the weight appeared and, the most important step was the printing of the first official seal that accredited the fixed weight of the ingot.

Currently, there is the term exonumia, considered as a branch of numismatic science since it not only studies coins but also different forms of money such as credit cards, checks, bonuses, and so on. The study covers its use, history, geography, economics, among other points. Likewise, the note is part of the numismatic discipline which is dedicated to study, collect and disseminate especially paper money, bills and stamps. In conclusion, the numismatist not only studies the coins but the different forms of money.

In relation to the definition given to the numismatic expression, it should be clarified that a person can be numismatic without being a collector or a collector without being numismatic or, failing that, both. This is by virtue of the fact that numismatists study coins or different forms of money and, in turn, collectors are characterized by possessing monetary objects. However, there are numismatic and collector individuals, that is, they keep the monetary objects and study them.

On the other hand, the person in charge of numismatizing, that is, of studying numismatics or writing about it, is known as numismatic or has a special knowledge of the science under study. In the same way, the numismatic expression is related to the author of one or more numismatic works.

The numismatic science is of great importance since it allows to observe and have knowledge about the exchanges and the economy of the towns, as well as its history, geography, politics, religion, customs, among other points. In relation to numismatics is paleography, symbolism, iconology, art history, among other sciences that serve to provide knowledge about the history of a people or nation.

HOW THE WORLD MARKETS MOVE.

This is due to the basic principle of supply and demand, and by simple direct proportionality, certain currencies and their prices show an upward trend. For some reason, experts have seen that these coins should appear in the showcases of their collections. Once again the information becomes public and the hunt begins. There is also a limited availability factor such as its circulation. Mintage as it is known in English, is a parameter used to determine the rarity of a coin. For example, the set proof of Costa Rican coins of the year 1976 had a wedge or mintage of only 5,000 pieces.

  • The Standard Catalog of World Coins is a series of five volumes…one for every century beginning in1601. It covers every country from A to Z and their coinage. • If there were books on the world’s most beautiful coins and banknotes, I believe they would include very few US coins. Most of the pictures would be of ancient, medieval and non U.S. world material.

  • The U.S. is just one country in “the world”.

  • Supply and demand. There is a fixed supply of the most desirable coins and banknotes. In fact, the supply declines as coins and banknotes go into collections. Globally, demand is increasing as the number of collectors and investors enjoy growing levels of wealth and disposable income.
