On. Live is a decentralized streaming platform, based on the blockchain Ethereum (token ERC20) and its smart contracts.
Its ambition is to revolutionize the world of streamers and viewers through a system where everyone, "actors" and "spectators," can play a "role" and be paid for it.

According to Wikipedia,
History

In the 1920s, scientist George O. Squier filed a patent for a signal transmission and distribution system on power lines that later became known as "Muzak." This was the first technology that allowed you to listen to streaming music without the use of radio4. The decades that followed saw very little progress in this area, as technologies were very expensive and therefore difficult to develop.
[...]

Appearance of live streaming
The growing demand from streaming consumers is leading the industry to develop a number of technologies, [...] also known as live streaming. In 2008, YouTube announced the arrival of live streaming video on its website, declaring: "Live streaming is something we've wanted to develop for many years, but we never had the resources to do it properly.”

Today, our present and our future is the next block system with On.Live.

I'm going to tell you about my brother and our conversations on On. Live. And since he doesn't know anything about cryptocurrency or blockchains, it's not going to be easy.
But what's good about projects like this one is that it’s mainstream, so it's easier to explain and it's going to be easy enough for him to understand.
All right, if one doesn't fit too well into the technical side : -)

"On.Live, what is it? I didn't quite understand. The streaming story is to watch movies and listen to music, right?"

So, yes, but not only that.
Like all industries, the streaming industry has evolved significantly. Today, it's not just about watching a video or listening to music.
You know Twitch?
“Uh, no, I guess not.”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
Well it is exactly on this segment that On.Live better positions itself. :-)

OnLive includes three completely decentralized marketplaces where users can offer and buy their services, live broadcasts, or computing power directly from each other without any centralized intermediary.

"You thought I was a pre-historic man?!? Yes of course I know, but I don't understand the connection with live streaming. On Twitch for example, I watch live sports events. Go on, I'll let you go on."

YouTube can be considered the leader of "generalist" live streaming and, for example, Twitch, is the leader of video game streaming although it is an "IRL" part.
So that's exactly where On.Live comes in, with the blockchain Ethereum, which will use a Relay Nodes system.
A platform is already available for some privileged in beta version and this is a very important element for me. It is so frustrating to buy a token when the platform does not exist.
What's also great about this project is that it is a company that already exists and has been working on the project for three years with a base of 50,000 professionals.

"Okay, I understand all the broad outlines but I need something concrete. I, who am a Project Manager--SAP Expert HCM (freelance), how can On.Live help me?"

Well, it's going to be easy, I see two possibilities for you or maybe even three!

1- For example, perhaps you could offer a training course.

SAP TRAINING BY JPM (it sounds good!)

live streaming since this is a domain in which you are an expert. You could deliver your content to a specific person or group. You can discuss the details through an integrated chat. Once you have agreed, all terms and conditions are recorded on a smart contract that will unlock the payment if the terms of the contract are fulfilled and validated.
If unfortunately there is a problem (it can happen, here again), On.Live can offer you a solution.
You will have to pay transcoding fees.
Here is a diagram showing all the operations:

And since I know that you're awesome, with On.Live, you'll be able to offer great quality content and be recognized for it.
You can be paid according to several formulas. You can offer your training for a group of 10 people to whom you would charge 100 ONL per person for your two-hour training.
Okay. Now a customer of your formation wants to speak live in private and you agree on a price per minute and the smart contract will trigger the payment when you have indicated the end of the streaming. It's as simple as that.

Everything takes place in P2P, trustless, without any meaning (unless the transcoder deems content to be unpropagated), and all this thanks to the blockchain.

"All right, that sounds very interesting to me!"

Yes, in addition to that, for example, you were talking about your sports coach and your desire to lose weight.
Here again, On. Live has the solution for you.

2- Fit Fit Fit!

image. png

You will be able to do an assessment with a doctor. It is important when you resume a sporting activity when you have stopped the sport for a long time like you!
And for your weight loss you will be able to call on a sports coach, a dietician.

"That's awesome, sister, really! What else can I do on On.Live?"

Chef

3- You could make your wife happy!
For example, you can spot a chef thanks to one of his free videos that caught your attention. You agree on the chat about the ingredients to buy and during the streaming you will make the recipe live with him.
And here you are, a very good meal for your wife that you made yourself! With the help of a big, live broadcaster.
There are enormous possibilities.

One last thing before I leave you, and it's very important.
In the On.Live ecosystem, there's a space for everyone. If you don't want to be a streamer, I still have a solution for you.

Transcoding and Relay Nodes

Thanks to the decentralized marketplace of Transcoding and Relay Nodes services, all network users have the possibility of making money by utilizing their computing power for relay and transcoding operations. On.Live transactions protocol inducted into livestreams opens the possibility of confirming transactions when transmitting video streams.
Network nodes perform real, useful work instead of useless computations as it usually happens in standard Proof of Work-based blockchains.

In conclusion, a picture to sum it all up:

Ask yourself two questions!

  • Who really makes money on YouTube? A minority!
  • Who will now make money on On.Live? A majority!
    image. png

I hope you got it all figured out. And don't hesitate if you have any other questions to read their White paper, not only on their website but also on the social networks where you will be able to chat with the team which is very competent. You can listen on Facebook, Twitter, Bitcointalk, and also Telegram, and others.

See you soon.
