There is a saying that "readers are leaders". One of the major things a new steemians must do is to learn how to read people's posts and tips.

There are just two currencies on the steem blockchain. They are

1. Steem and
2. steemdollars.

For me if I see a person with a reputation of twenty five and has a steempower of 100000 and a person with a reputation of 70 and a steempower of 1500, I will prefer the former to see my post and upvote my post. So Steempower is just how influential you are. Reputation gives you respect in the community but steempower gives you more respect.

What is reputation?

Reputation is number in bracket attached to your name. The value shows how much you have contributed to the community. Reputation score goes up or down. If your reputation score increases it means that people upvote your content but if your reputation score reduces it means that you were flagged. The main reason for flagging is plagiarism.
