El Rosal
Buenas tardes, rosal, ¿cómo te ha ido?
Estás muy bien, muy lleno de frescura;
yo sigo mal. aunque algo más sufrido...
¡Ya tiene tanto tiempo mi amargura!
Yo pensaba venir esta mañana,
pero no pude, me quedé pensando
el Ella, mi cordial Samaritana,
¡y el tiempo se me fue sin saber cuando!
Y ahora vengo, rosal, porque quisiera
oír, en el silencio que te viste
de fragante frescor de primavera,
aquella voz de musicales preces,
la que ha dulcificado tantas veces
esta vieja costumbre de estar triste.
