City of Peace: SAMSUN
Yesilirmak and Kizilirmak deltas between, perhaps built on Turkey's most fertile soil is a city of Samsun. It is located in the Central Black Sea Region.
Like all the cities of the Black Sea Region, Samsun is a lush natural beauty. The area of 9083 km² is one of the 3 metropolitan municipalities of the Black Sea Region with a population of about 1.5 million. Like other cities in the Black Sea Region, vegetation is a forest.
The history of Samsun, which is known as the place where the War of Independence started, is also based on very old ones. For the first time in Samsun, people who lived in the Middle Stone Age appeared to have lived behind the Hittites. The name of Samsun is "Amisos", "Samisos", "Samsus".
The Black Sea climate is experienced in Samsun with four seasons. "Tobacco, moon tea, hazelnut, tea, sugar beet" plants are suitable for this climate type.
