Tips for Steemit Beginners (Third Edition)

in #busy7 years ago (edited)

This is the third edition of this article. Again, this is based on my experience.

To anyone that reads this article this is not about “get big payout” quickly. But these tips will help you get into the right track to bea successful steemit blogger.

DISCLAIMER

This article will change anytime since I am basing it on my accumulated experience over the period of time.

I mainly wrote this article for steemit beginners. If you are a beginner I'll be frank with you so that you will know what to expect in this platform.

If you are not a famous celebrity or famous in any sense, getting upvotes in your post is hard. If you are not backed by a community or group, upvotes are hard to come by. If you don't have 5,000 to 10,000 followers, upvotes will be scarce.

There are no perfect tips on how to be successful on Steemit. Some of the tips that you are going to read may not be applicable with you or with everybody. Some might me applicable, some might not.

The following tips are as follows:

Post quality content whenever possible if not all the time

Posting quality content is a no brainer. Every blog need to incorporate quality and original content. Do not attempt to copy any article in the internet or else it will be downvoted by authorities such as @cheetah and @steemcleaners.

Join steemit groups, communities, discord channels and steem.chat channel

Joining these kinds of groups, communities and channels will help you familiarize into the platform. They can help you boost your exposure and presence to the platform. They can also get you more followers a little bit quicker than doing it on your own.

I recommend steemPH (Discord) if you are from the Philippines and Steemgigs (Discord) if you are from other part of the world.

Most channels, groups or communities that utilizes Discord app have a room wherein you can promote your posts and even got an upvoting bot to vote your posts.

Interact with other steemit users

Don't get lazy. You have to follow other users also aside from joining groups and communities and interact with them by commenting, resteeming and upvoting their post and comments.

I consider this "interaction" as a dirty work since there is no guarantee that users will return the favor.

Interacting with other users will boost your exposure and presence to the platform.

Post on a regular basis

Do not post every 30 minutes or every hour. Make an interval, if you want to post 3 articles per day then make a 6-8 hours interval before posting another one.

If you want your article to be viewed by your countrymen then post at day. if you want your post to be viewed by foreign countries then post at night, since nighttime on your country is daytime in the other side of the world.

Read, read, read

Reading other users posts will give you ideas on what articles you are interested in and also give you ideas on what articles you are going to post on your blog. Reading is knowledge, so keep reading.

Use Busy.org

Busy is a complimentary platform to steemit. You can use Busy by logging-in to the website just visit busy.org. Use only your posting key in logging-in for security. You have to post using Busy.org then add "busy" as one of your tags so that the bot can find your post and upvote it.

Important:Your followers need to have a combined 500 SP or more to be eligible to get vote. Voting is done by a bot. A user can only be voted by the bot once every 12 hours so phase your posts when using busy.

Join Utopian-io

Utopian-io is a platform that utilizes the Steem blockchain just like steemit. Utopian rewards its users much like Busy and Steemit.

A lot of stuff can be done using utopian. If you know how to program you can submit your works as an open source to the platform by way of github.com. if you don't know how to program you can do translation, suggestion, analysis, documentation, graphics and many more.

You can use utopian-io by logging-in to the website just visit utopian.io. Use your posting key for security.

Utopian also rewards its users like steemit.

Do you love making videos? Upload it to DTube

You can use dtube by going to https://d.tube then login with your posting key for security.

DTube also utlizes the steem blockchain. Anything that you post on DTube will appear on your steemit blog.

DTube also rewards its users like steemit.

Last but not the least, use voting bots such as @minnowbooster and @minnowsupport and many more

Bid based upvoting bots are good but it is highly risky, sometimes you get negative "return of investment" because of numerous bidders that are bidding at the same time.

There are two voting bots that I can recommend, one is @minnowbooster and another one is @minnowsupport.

To use minnowbooster you have to send a minimum of 0.01 SBD together with the link of the article as a memo and get a guaranteed profitable upvote. You can use minnowbooster anytime.

Be careful on using minnowbooster because it is not a perfect bot. It may categorize your good article into a bad one and gets you banned.

To use minnowsupport (minnowsupport's Discord server name is "Peace, Abundance, Liberty") you don’t have to send any amount of SBD to use the bot but there is a cooldown time in using the bot ranging from 24 hour to 42 hours.

And what is a cooldown time? If minnowsupport just voted your post today at 12:00 PM you have to wait 24-42 hours before you can use the bot again.

That's it for now guys. Hope it helps. Steem on.
