Phishing Attack Posing as a Legit Email Containing Urgent/Confidential PDF Document
Steemians beware! Phishers are not going to stop. Last July 1, 2018 at around past 7 p.m. I have received an email posing as a legit important/confidential PDF document that aims to trick the victim in clicking the link provided inside the email.
Here's what the email look like:
It's stating that I have received a document in a PDF format embedded in a link. Obviously the sender wants me to click the link. If you hover your mouse above the link the real address of the link will appear at the bottom left corner of your screen the address is: meyerasg.com/imgsz/fcss/?access= and the sender is: yahoo.com [email protected]
Below the body of the email you can read the following:
This e-mail is confidential. It is intended only for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is privileged, confidential and exempt from disclosure. If you are not the intended recipient (or responsible for delivery of this message to such person), you may not copy, disseminate, print, distribute, disclose or use any part of it. If you have received this message in error, please delete it, including all copies from your system, and notify the sender immediately by return e-mail (including the original message in your reply).Thank you.
The subject of the email is: An Urgent document_my_name
Most phishing emails are designed to trick us. They usually pose as a legit email from reputable individual or institution or acting like one. But if you look thoroughly into them you will notice that their sender or origin is not related to the email that has been sent to you.
Be careful guys, they are not going to stop. They only want your private information in order to get something from it.
