Moorish American Principles in Business 7-10 Minute Read 🐪
If you don’t know much about Moorish Americans we have five principles that we try to live and die by. It is these five principles that are the basis of our faith and our culture. Through these five principles every thought, word and deed is measured and any practicing Moorish American knows them by heart. I feel these five principles can and should be applied to your business mindset and how you should run your business. Enough talk you are probably wondering what the five principles are.
Love 💕
Love should always apply to your business no matter what. You must love what you do or else what’s the point? This love should transcend all things and this love should shine through your business model. If you love what you do and you are passionate; your customers will notice. Moorish Americans do everything according to love, having love in your heart is reciprocated by the universe. This is the law of attraction or the Hermetic law of Mentalism. By treating your business, customers, and your product with love, you will get love back. By constantly thinking of love as you manage your business, this prevents cheating, lying and treating your customers badly. It constantly keeps you on your toes and keeps your mind on the prize and that is to love your business and the people that support it.
Truth 💯
This should be pretty straightforward, but it’s a little deeper than you may think. When dealing with Moorish Americans, these principles always start with self. The truth begins with you. Questions such as, “Is my product good enough for my customers? Did I work as hard on this as I should have? “Did I treat my last customer with the respect that they deserved? This is the principle of truth in action. Great businesses need great leaders and as a leader you must work on you to make your business better. The key to anything you want to do in your life is truth. Be truthful with yourself, DON’T LIE TO YOURSELF. In this day and age with social media we can see into the lives of others very easily, so naturally we judge a lot more than usual. We judge others so easily but we lie to ourselves every day. We know that our habits are bad but we do them anyway. We know we should hit the gym and put down that pizza slice but we don’t. This is why the principle of truth is so important. Before you look at anything in your business, start by looking in the mirror. We all have our faults, but we must acknowledge these faults and work to fix them. This principle focuses on the fact that all your problems start with self.
Peace ✌
This principle isn’t as self-explanatory as the others. Peace and business usually don’t go together. Business is cut throat and every company is trying to be the top dog in their field. There is nothing wrong with competition, but there is a peaceful way of going about it. Peace in business can be translated to not slandering your competition; or not overcharging your customers. There are many other ways peace can be applied to your business. For example, donating some of your profits to charity or hosting a food drive with other businesses. There are numerous ways to apply peace to your business model but always remember all your competition have families, dreams and are striving for the same happiness that you are.
Freedom 💪
This is a principle that everyone should be familiar with. How do you apply it to business though? Well, as a business owner you probably have employees; so I guess we will start there. We have all had bosses that we hated. Bosses that were so bad we dreaded going into work and you were watching the clock to go home. When you hate your job, your work will never be as good as someone who loves their job. Remember this when you are running your business. Do not treat your employees badly, treat them with respect and remember that they are your team. How does this apply to freedom you ask? Here’s an example, you have an employee whose birthday is today and is scheduled to work, what do you do? Give that employee the day off with pay or just the day off.. I know that sounds crazy but you are in the position to make a difference. Yeah you could make the employee work, but why not make their day and make them feel special? You must nurture your team, keep them in good spirits and don’t let your business impede their lives. Close for that holiday, if an employee wants time off to go on trip, let them. Don’t be upset, they have a life as well and they should have the freedom to pursue their goals. If they are a great employee why hinder them? Some of you may not agree with me, but I feel we could have it all, I feel that you could have a business with happy customers and employees.
Justice ✊
This is the final Moorish American principle. Justice keeps all the other principles in check. If you don’t live by the first four principles then justice will come to you. If you are not leading your life and business with love, truth, peace and freedom; justice will hit you. Justice will come in the form of losing your customers, losing employees which will lead to your business closing. Some may call this karma, but Moorish American principles are based on universal laws and as a Moorish American we believe in the law of reciprocity or cause and effect. This is based on you get what you give; your actions have an effect. This also works on the other end and if you live your life according to these principles justice will favor you with a successful business.
These principles can be applied to all parts of your life, and they keep us Moorish Americans on track to a peaceful fulfilling life. Just because these are Moorish American principles anyone can apply these to their lives. I hope you enjoyed this adaptation of business and Moorish American ideology.
