I've been a tutor of english for 1 month. And you know how many I earned? 4.5$(something close to 7 hours of tutoring). It's now even close. There is very small amounth of people who can afford this and want.
It greatly depends on which country you live.
And it will also depend on the topic. I think for programming you will be able to get more than for english teaching :-)
