Ehics can be defined as the comportment that is commonly accepted as right or moral principles. Ethical behavour does not necessarily mean what is right by law or in the legal sense, but the right things to do in the circumstances - what the common man in the street would see and consider as right.
In business activities, most entrepreneurs are eager to get to the top within the shortest possible time and absence of a codified set of rules. It is equally good to note that the duty of management is to protect, sustain and prosper investments, but this does not give management the impetus to achieve results by all means. Moreso, management does not have a mandate or licence to be callously indifferent to detail or other interests.
Furthermore, in defending the interests of the owners of the enterprise, work or transactions should be carried out in dignity while other interest(humanity) must be consider and incorporated in all dealings.
As an entrepreneur, there are some business acts that demean or bring shame to both the business and humanity.
There acts are;
- Manipulation of figures
- Industrial spying or espionage
- 419 (Advance Fee Fraud)
- Breaches and non-disclosure
- Finacial and material influence
- Environmental infringements
- Utmost bad faith
- other wrong doings.
