There are many unique and healthy ways of managing conflict, and just as equally unhealthy as well. We could dissect it a bit deeper and understand the triggers and what occurs at that time. When I mention this most people will say the same comment. "Easier said then done." This is naysayer language and it goes to the lazy and often unfocused. Harsh? Well, maybe just a bit.

If it was easy everybody would do it.

There are triggers the very conflict triggers with strong emotions that can often lead to hurt feelings, and disrupted relations. You have to do a few things when you are dealing with emotions that are heated.

  1. Quickly address and relieve the stress.

  2. Recognize the emotion and manage it.

  3. Improve your body language. The way you use your body will impact your non-verbal communication. That means the way you walk talk, and use gestures.

  4. Use humor as a tool to help you diffuse issues.

There are many ways to do this! You could use phrases to help you achieve your communication.

It is important to encourage the other person to share their issues with you. This is important, and in order to reach a point where you dissolve the issue.

Here they are below:

I want to understand what has upset you.

I want to know what you are really hoping for.

Clarify the real issues, rather than making assumptions. Ask questions that allow you to gain
this information, and which let the other person know you are trying to understand.

Can you say more about that?

Is that the way it usually happens?

Restate what you have heard, so you are both able to see what has been understood so far it
may be that the other person will then realize that additional information is needed.

It sounds like you weren't expecting that to happen.

I can imagine how upsetting that must have been.

Validate the concerns of the other person, even if a solution is elusive at this time. Expressing
appreciation can be a very powerful message if it is conveyed with integrity and respect.

I really appreciate that we are talking about this issue.

I am glad we are trying to figure this out.

These are good phrases that will help you with your business conflict. Feel free to use them when necessary.

You are welcome @screenwriterml

Yep, always acknowledge the other person and what he said. Show them you're listening and paying attention to them.
That's for starters.
