Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (PTDI), Elfien Goentoro and Governor of Aceh Province, Irwandi Yusuf signed the Framework Agreement on the procurement of N219 Nurtanio aircraft and the Development of Human Resources and Aerospace Facilities in Aceh.

The Aceh Provincial Government is interested in purchasing 50 units of N219 Nurtanio, a joint venture in the establishment of the N219 Nurtanio aircraft assembly line facility in Aceh, including the development of Son Aceh's human resources in the aerospace industry.

"PTDI and the Aceh Provincial Government also cooperate in the maintenance of the N219 Nurtanio aircraft and a review of the establishment of the N219 Nurtanio part and / or aircraft parts facility in Aceh and the establishment of an aircraft maintenance facility including but not limited to N219 Nurtanio aircraft in Aceh , "Said Elfien Goentoro in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/2).

N219 Nurtanio aircraft is a passenger aircraft with a capacity of 19 passengers with two turboprop engines that refer to the regulation of CASR Part 23. The idea and design of the aircraft developed by PTDI with the development of programs conducted by PTDI and LAPAN.

N219 Nurtanio aircraft was basically developed to meet the needs of national air transport in the pioneer area, and N219 Nurtanio aircraft can be used for various needs, such as passenger transport, freight transport and air ambulance.

N219 Nurtanio is designed to meet the needs of the community, especially in pioneer areas, making it easier to take off and landing on short and unworked platforms such as grass or rocks.

N219 Nurtanio aircraft is also very relevant to the natural conditions in Indonesia, which is generally hilly and there are many mountains. N219 Nurtanio aircraft has a maximum speed (speed) reaches 210 knots, and the lowest speed reached 59 knots.

"It means that the speed is low enough that the plane can still be controlled, it is very important especially when entering the cliff-clad areas, between the mountains that require aircraft with maneuverability and low speed."

N219 Nurtanio aircraft which on August 16, 2017 has conducted the inaugural flight test, until now still undergoing a series of certification testing. The certification process is an important process to ensure security and safety as it will be used by customers and the public. PTDI will prepare two prototype N219 Nurtanio aircraft for flight test up to 350 flight hours and 2 other prototypes for fatigue tests requiring 3,000 cycle fatigue tests to obtain Type Certificate at the end of 2018.

In 2019, the first N219 Nurtanio aircraft targeted ready and ready to enter the market, with First Launch Customer in early July of 2019, is PT Pelita Air Service.

N219 aircraft will be produced in stages. Initially it will be produced 6 units using existing production capacity, then by running the automation system in the manufacturing process, gradually delivery ability will continue to increase until reaching 36 units per year.
