Yes i like the stock twitter.

They have a product that's really unique. The difference between other social media is that twitter acts more like a news website. You couldn't compare it to Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram or the other website's. They are all market leader in their specific niche.

I also like social media because these types of business have a network effect. I'ts hard for competitors to take their market share away.

The most difficult thing about twitter seems to be monetizing it. Twitter itself is free to use so they have to get income in other ways. Advertising is probably the best way because they have a good user base. That's actually one of the problems that snapchat has, most people who use snap are children so advertising is cheap. On twitter most people are grown ups and also business minded people, that's a public which is worth more to advertise to.

Twitter needs to come up with a good engine where advertisers can target their audience. Google and Facebook are very good in this. You can specify what audience you want to show your advertisements to, which make the conversions very high. That's why businesses love Fb and Google, unlike traditional media it's more efficiënt to do advertising. Big data and artificial intelligence play a big role, ads will become smarter in the future to a point where they can predict what you are going to buy.

Ever noticed when you view a product you get shown some ads later on by google? That's because their algorithms know you're interested in the product.

I don´t think so is a piece of garbage alike Instagram

I think the problem of instagram is most people use bots nowadays which is annoying. There is not much real engagement on the platform, most is fake.

Here on steem you also have bots but i think it may be a better system. Because when content is to spammy people will start to flag and then it's costing money for the spammer.

Instagram bots are free to use (not all but a lot of them are) and easy to use that's why there is much spam. You could easily make multiple accounts and spam the sh*t out of them. When an account get's banned you simply make another one. Here on steemit you could also do that but it will cost you money when people start flagging. So there is less of an incentive to do so.

indeed Instagram is outer most garbage. a Social Network for the narcisist and attention seeker (let alone a handful of really worthy profiles)

Some people I seen say Twitter is very profitable. But I tried it myself and I haven't generate a single dime myself on there. Facebook and Youtube is pretty much where I would get my traffic from mostly. The most common way I seen some marketers make money off Twitter is building a local business Twitter following for them.

I was talking about the business of twitter itself not really how profitable it is for the users.

When you are talking out of the users perspective, you are probably right.
Youtube is a good way to get your website ranking organic in the search engines. Make video's and put a link to your website in the description.

Twitter is more to engage with your audience and give updates, not really meant as a backlink strategy for seo purposes.
