I worked in an open plan office for 5 years. The entire IT infrastructure department in one huge room. I was definitely one of the 99% that lost focus because of conversations and phones ringing. I took frequent trips to the server rooms to be in peace under the pretense of needing physical access to the network devices. Good ol' corporation logic!
