Working For Me - Doing our Businesses

Many of us dream about quitting our day to day jobs to work for ourselves. And working for ourselves in our ideal job of choice, must be the ideal way to go, especially if the services that we deliver makes us tons of money and give us little to no stress. OK, we wish it was that easy, as the truth is that most businesses will fail within the first 18 months of startup. But don't let this put you off, as there are millions of businesses global that started from nothing and grew to becomes hugely successful global corporations.

Taking the first step from the comfort and familiarity of our current employment and from the reliable payment in salaries at the end of each month can be daunting. The fear of working for ourselves often drowned many of our great and potentially profitable ideas. But if you think about it, more than likely the company that you are currently working for, started from nothing, where the founding fathers took the first step, grow the business, hence it become the business that it is today.

Taking the first step in working for our self has its challenges and that not all of us got what it takes to grow a successful business. But who to tell that your idea isn't just the greatest idea and is to become the innovator for tomorrow, so why not just take the challenges and deliver the best business you can.

When we work for our self, we become the business owner with the freedom to make the decisions that determines our business present and future. Our destiny is in our own hands and we have the power to ensure that the businesses we created moves in the directions that we want it to go. Working for ourselves means that we are able to choose when we work, rather than when others want us to work. We set hours, so we can start as early or as late as we desire. However, although there are flexibility in working for ourselves, as entrepreneurs we must be disciplined in order to run our business successfully.

This is great! As business owners, we get to make the decisions on who to hire and fire, and we can build the kind of team we desire that is aligned to our personality and business goals. Being the boss, we get to see the financial results and rewards of our hard work. To start as its risk, however, when we get it right, the rewards far outweighs the risk

The next step, once we have a successful business startup is to grow it to the next level. Growing our business could mean expand it to another location. We could consider provide the opportunity for others to buy into your business through franchise. If our business is unique and have the potential to reach beyond our own immediate reach then license is a consideration with a licensing partner that can take our business brand the other level.

Diversification for growth

Business diversifying is a good strategy for growth, as it will give us the opportunity to have a business with multiple streams incomes, provide the opportunity to increase sales, hence increasing our business profit margins. Diversification could include the sales of other complementary products or services and also we can consider moving our business niche to other marketplaces.

Other Growth Areas

Why not considering government contract or merge with another or bring on board Investors or expanded globally through foreign distributors and if our business is not yet online, then the Internet can bring a new dimension to growth expansion and diversification.
