What’s The Best Workout For Your Brain? This One.
Your brain is pretty much the most important tool you’ve got in business – and your life! You need it to be firing on all cylinders in order to successfully attain your goals, and it’s easy to forget to exercise it when you have so much else to do.
Of course, how do you exercise your brain anyway? As it turns out, you don’t necessarily need to do brain training or break out the sudoku puzzle, because simply moving is enough to lift your mood, boost your memory and stop cobwebs from destroying your mental processes.
What kind of movement? It doesn’t matter, just get out there and get moving enough so that your heart rate goes up and you start getting a bit sweaty (this can also be achieved indoors…). Not only is it good for your body, it also gives your brain a huge boost: think of it as a 2-for-1 special.
Aerobic exercise of any kind gets oxygen flowing all around your body, and not only is that great for your heart, it turns out that your brain loves its O2 as well, not to mention the endorphins that come after a gruelling session on the treadmill to reward you.
Don’t expect all the benefits to start happening immediately (you can admire your trimmer frame and increased stamina in the meantime), but after just a few weeks, you’ll find that you don’t just look better and feel better, but you also think better. As a bonus, it’s a great way to wish away the depression blues, too.
So get off the computer and get moving – it’s good for you in just about every way possible!
Hal Elrod breaks this down (and the routine setting) in his The Miracle Morning series.
Thanks, I needed this today. Upvoted and resteemed!
