What are the disadvantages of teamwork?
Its rightly said where it is good there is bad and same goes with teamwork. We have its advantages and same time disadvantages. Following I'm going to highlight some of the disadvantages of teamwork.

Disadvantages of teamwork
- Delay in decision making - It can take a lot of time to make a decision and complete the tasks in hand. This can happen due to different ideas, opinions, cultural background or unsettled disagreements.
- lack of trust - for a team to be successful we need its team members to have trust amongst themselves. Without trust, you cannot develop a truly innovative product. Until this trust is built we cannot expect the team to be successful.
- All team members are cannot be considered a team player - some co-workers may not function well being a part of a team and prefer to work on their own i.e. would like to work as a silo and independently.
- Unequal participation - with some teams, there can be a tendency for members to sit back and let others do most of the work. These folks are not very much interested in participating equally and leading to not giving 100% of their efforts.
- Non-cooperative attitude - team members with a different culture, opinions and educational background build an attitude which is not favorable for the team growths. Therefore a non-cooperative nature of a team member could break down teams morale leading to its failure.
- Less trained team members - one of the other disadvantages of teamwork is that we have less trained team members on board. This further leads to delays in project deliveries and a cost to the organization in developing their skill sets to bring them up to the mark with other team members.
These were some the highlighted pointers that showcase the disadvantage of teamwork. The but point to note here is that things cannot be developed individually - we need more hands to quickly build things. Having said that if we can improvise on the pointers highlighted and tweak changes accordingly then I'm confident that as a team we can achieve, innovate and build the toughest and the coolest things in this world to take advantage of.
