Millennials and their money.

The way schools teach us about money, or rather the way we earn money. It really screws people up because what do we do after we're done with school or these days for most of us during school? We get a job from an employer to earn money, and many times we weven complain that it's so hard to find a job (which by the way means Just Over Broke).

The Irony is that many people who study for years and years on end, not even thinking about the debt that's going to cause these days, they find themselves overeducated and a specialist is such a select field, they notice it's next to impossible for them to find the job that fits with what they have been studying so hard for.

Back in the '60s, this was different. The world was screaming for people to join the workforce. I think that's why they structured schools in the way they have, so that people get streamlined to become an employee. The world has changed radically since those times, the schools, however, have not. It's still all about getting a job.

I think a paradigm shift needs to happen. I think it's time for people to look at the world, the country you're in, the people around you, it's time to observe and to decide what needs to be better and what you can do about it to make it better. It's time for people to follow their passion again, and make a business about that.

Through the internet the most crazy things become a reality and people are starting to make money in ways people would have never imagined.
I think it's time for schools to not rely on their economy teacher who is taking his pension in a few years to educate the students about the way that they are going to earn money for the rest of their lives. This guy has no idea about the potential. It's time to allow people who have made it to give presentations and workshops with the students. In order for the students to find out what it really is that they want to spend their time on, in order for them to learn how to build a company around the things they find fun. It's also important for people to start understanding it's possible to build a money machine, in order for you to do the things you find fun or important that might not earn you money.

I think people like @dobartim are an example of the people I am talking about in the paragraph above, people who are developing a modern business school for students to find out what they want to build a business out of, and then to teach them modern marketing techniques, ways to reach out to potential leads, customers, investors or partners depending on the type of business.

Back in high school and college I was only taught about some company constructs , what they mean ways for managing the money that comes in. We never talked about things that business owners need to do to grow their company, we never went into the potential of the internet, and this was just around 5 years ago. Absolutely a stupid way of teaching and I firmly believe it was a waste of my time and of the hundreds of co-students.

I am of the opinion that the sole purpose of school should be so that students can become financially independent doing the things they want to do. During school they should get an abundance of opportunities to start their own business and then get assignments or make their own assignments to develop that business so they have something valuable in their hands when they leave school.
