An Easy, Legit Side Hustle: Wrapify

I know what you’re thinking.

You read the headline, you were skeptical but you said “Eh, what the heck, I’ll check it out. This guy is probably full of crap but I’ve got some time to kill. I already know you can take surveys online for about a dollar an hour, wonder what other kind of monumental waste of time he’s gonna propose…”

Fortunately for us both, I’m not full of it. This honestly is an easy, legitimate way to make additional money with minimal change to your regular routine. It’s called Wrapify.

What is it? Essentially, it is you turning your car into a mobile billboard and getting paid for it. Other companies sell/lease stationary billboards on the side of the highways – and now you can lease the physical space on your car/truck/SUV on a per-mile basis for cold, hard cash.

Wrapify makes the process relatively pain-free to get up and running. The main challenges with getting this started are:

Do you live in or near one of the cities that Wrapify is currently operating in?
Do you have a vehicle that is at least from 2008 or newer?

If your answer to both of those questions is yes, then you may be able to start making some additional income quite easily.

How do I get started?

Glad you asked! The process basically goes like this:

1. Download Wrapify’s mobile app (it’s free).
2. Drive 50 miles to begin qualifying for vehicle ad campaigns.
3. Sign up for a campaign once available.

I will mention that I was signed up for a few months before I got my first campaign offer. However, that was last year and Wrapify is a fast-growing company. I expect that ad campaigns will be available more frequently going forward.

Once you have signed up for a campaign, Wrapify’s reps will walk you through the process of filling out an online profile, submitting tax information and other personal info, and setting up a date with a local body shop to have the campaign wrap applied to your vehicle.

According to Wrapify’s website, you can make anywhere from $84 to $452 per month, depending on driving habits and the amount of wrap coverage over your vehicle. A panel wrap will obviously bring in less money for you as compared to a partial or full vehicle wrap.

The campaign I am currently enrolled in is for a mileage-tracking app called “MileIQ”. The length of this particular campaign is 3 months and it’s the first one I’ve done with Wrapify. Mine is considered a partial wrap and I’ve been averaging around 200$ a month or so driving 25 miles per day. Below are pictures of my stylish Bumblebee-looking Honda Civic!

My MileIQ campaign is set to end on 4/29/17. I’ve made about $803 and counting since 2/4/17 when the campaign started. I’ve been averaging usually around $8-10 per day when I drive my 25 miles inside the campaign target area:

What doesn’t show in the app is the additional $275 payment I received for driving around during MileIQ’s “SWARM” event. On SuperBowl weekend, all drivers in the MileIQ campaign were given the option to sign up for time slots to drive around downtown for additional exposure. They paid me $100 an hour for 2 hours, and $75 for an additional hour that was offered later on. 3 hours of driving = $275.

Not a bad haul for just driving around! I’ll definitely look to sign up for additional ad campaigns in the future.

UPDATE – 5/2/17 Got the MileIQ wrap removed from my car today. No observable damages noted to the paint – this was something I was concerned about. I already had a slight bit of paint that has worn off above the door handles on both doors, right below where the door windows begin. No noticeable difference in before/after condition of my vehicle though. This campaign lasted 3 months and the wrap removal guy stated that it “wasn’t on long enough to cause any problems”. Perhaps longer campaigns may pose an issue as far as car paint integrity? Also, the removal process only took a few minutes but Wrapify will tell you to leave your vehicle at the shop all day.
