Everybody has this impression of who or what a salesmen is or is like. Most likely from some car salesmen that was just an all out shark and pushed you into a expensive payment on a shitty car that broke down on you once a week. How about the old door to door guys that wanna sell you this amazing vacuum cleaner.

I have been in sales for 6 years now and that is just talking legit work. Before all this i was a hustler. Whats the difference you ask? Nothing but the fact that one job is taxed by the man every time i make a sale and the other is all mine for the keeping. I can tell you what makes me different as a hustler then that used car guy though, I don't need to carry condoms around with me.....because I DON'T FUCK PEOPLE. currently i am in the mattress and furniture business. i love it because its something that yes has a store on every city block, but they buy here because of me not my company.

If your in sales and you haven't figured this out yet than just keep coming back. it works. Its called caring. Yes you can argue that it is hard to really care about someone you don't know and doesn't care about you but its not about that kind of caring. i was once told by one of the best salesmen i ever knew and respected that you can only skin a sheep once. what that means for this post is just this. Have enough self respect and respect for your business to do right by the customer and truly take care of them. Which sometimes is hard because I'm sorry but buyers are liars and and a lot of the time unrealistic even if they are being straight with you. When you except that not everyone is going to buy you stop taking no as attack on you personally. No doesn't always mean no either. Sometimes you have to prove to this naysayer that you are right and do have their best interests at heart, and not be telling them that. Show your client/ customer , show them with your hard earned wisdom for on the job experience.

If you really are top of your industry people know it when they talk to you.

Good post! I do Door to Door sales for the last 20yrs. And yes, knowledge is the most powerful thing someone can have.
